The traffic of trucks in the area of the Border Checkpoint "Danube Bridge" at Rousse it is extremely intense.
There was a queue of trucks of about one kilometer - from the roundabout at the "Danube Bridge" next to that in the area of the Ruse Free Zone, a BTA reporter saw. The rest of the tracks are mainly waiting in the buffer parking area.
The border crossing informed that a total of 1,548 trucks passed through the facility in both directions over the last 24 hours. Of them, 729 entered Bulgaria, and 819 left the country.
Truck driver Hristo Todorov commented to BTA that he always wastes a lot of time waiting at the border. "I've been here since yesterday. There are many trucks. One day he left hanging in queues along the border. On the way back, it's the same again on the other side. It's okay," he added.
Car traffic in the direction of Romania is intense. The border post commented that the traffic of cars is expected to increase in the afternoon.
BTA recalls that on July 10 of this year the major repair of the Bulgarian section of the 70-year-old facility began. For this reason, in the overpass part of the bridge, traffic for 200 meters is carried out in only one lane.
Employees of the "Border Police" regulate the movement of vehicles in the area of construction and installation activities.
Border authorities urge motorists to observe the ban on overtaking on the bridge facility and obey the orders of traffic officials.
