A fire broke out on the fast train from Varna to Plovdiv before Chirpan, BNR reported.
Atanas Angelov, who was traveling on the train, told the radio that the train's locomotive caught fire. An ambulance took one of the drivers to the hospital because he had fainted, Angelov also said.
„We left Stara Zagora 1 hour late – fast train 8632 from Varna, with locomotive 43309. Smoke came out 3-4 km before Chirpan, then fire. The boys tried to get the train into the station but failed. Now we are about 1 km from the station and the firefighters are putting out the fire, Angelov said.
Teams of the fire department put out the fire in the locomotive, and the passengers were taken away by buses, added Atanas Angelov.
