In order to reach the appointment of a European Commissioner, a government must have its priorities within the framework of the common European policy, which totally Bulgaria is missing at the moment.
This was stated to the BNR by Vladimir Kisyov - former chief negotiator for Bulgaria's EU membership and former deputy minister of foreign affairs.
He expected that the proposal would be to extend the mandate of Iliana Ivanova, who, in his words, has authority and good results. "Apparently, the accounts are different. Apparently, she is preparing to return to the European Court of Auditors,", assumed Kisiv.
According to him, all those proposed have some experience in working with the European institutions or presence in the EP. Ekaterina Zaharieva has the most experience and the best offer so far, he expressed his opinion.
"Sergei Stanishev - is this the man who should be offered by Bulgaria? Names like that of Ivaylo Kalfin, who is a perfectly prepared specialist, should also be mentioned. There is a dependence on the department. As transport policy is also mentioned - we also had MEPs who in a dignified way defended Bulgaria's policy in relation to carriers and changes in legislation, and they could be the ones who will continue to defend Bulgarian policy. Let that be left to the government. The National Assembly cannot elect, because you see what kind of parliament we have. We have a pseudo-parliament".
Let the candidates for European commissioners be heard by the National Assembly, but not determined, recommended Vladimir Kisev. According to him, the Bulgarian European Commissioner should be appointed by the government and the prime minister:
"Unfortunately, we are currently with a temporary government, but this is the government of Bulgaria and it must decide.
