"Mr. Dogan is returning with full force to the operational politics of Bulgaria. We all hope that he will be part of the lists in the upcoming elections. We will still hold consultations and discuss the candidate lists. This was stated in “Hello, Bulgaria” the independent MP Valentin Tonchev in response to the question whether the honorary chairman of the DPS will run for MP in the upcoming elections.
Asked if Delyan Peevski made his ballot, what would be the outcome, he answered: "Peevski is free to take his political path. His time at DPS is over. We will not comply with his sayings, decisions or his imposition on the avatars. DPS is a clearly listed organization, which has its own Statute, which has its own honorary chairman, and we will order the lists according to the Statute, according to the consultations that we will do with all areas".
He also commented on the issue of the split in the DPS ranks and the legitimacy of the exclusion of Delyan Peevski and some of his associates from the party ranks. „The Charter of the DPS is very clearly spelled out in Article 9, where it is stated that Doctor Dogan is the bearer of the permanent values and strategic goals of the DPS. And what more strategic goal for a party than whether a certain group of people are excluded from the leadership positions they hold. Of course, Mr. Dogan is a higher authority. And all these yellow media and clubs that Mr. Peevski tried to pour on DPS and the Party's Constitution in recent weeks showed that in fact their theses are completely untenable. It is not by chance that Mr. Dogan cites Article 6. There are listed the reasons why any member of the Movement can be expelled. And I was surprised to find that the excluded met all the conditions”.
In his words "this DPS statute has been valid since 10 years ago, when the party experienced a similar crisis with the then chairman". "Things are very clearly set. The problem here is not that these people are excluded. In reality, they were released from the DPS already on July 10 with the call of Mr. Dogan, and he says it very clearly in his message. The problem is different. Namely, that these people to this day continue not to comply with the Statute of the DPS", he is categorical.
When asked why, if the exclusion from the DPS is so easy and can be done at the will of the honorary chairman, this was not done a week ago, when there was a meeting of the CSO, Tonchev emphasized that "a week ago there was no meeting of the Central Operational Bureau of the Party". "This was another misinformation. It was a regular meeting that we have been having with Dr. Ahmed Dogan for 40 days now. It wasn't about that thing at all. For 40 days, Doctor Dogan brought out the moral and ethical qualities of those people who have already been released from DPS. He gave them the opportunity to clear their names by resigning themselves. All of Bulgaria saw how much morality they have in their souls, Tonchev said
