Ivo Zelev: We are going to 1.5 million voters in these elections. It will turn out that half of our vote is controlled - 1

"We are at a stage where the monkey has grabbed the microscope. The only reassuring thing is that this is not happening only in Bulgaria. This is a Euro-Atlantic trend. Everywhere is madness - in the right it is clear; in the left, Ninova ruined the BSP and has decided to ruin it; in DPS it is exactly the same story. There is no offer to voters. It is assumed that the monkey will continue to crack its nuts with the microscope," sociologist Kolyo Kolev told Bulgaria ON AIR in a comment on the political situation in the country.
"Our monkey is dumber and more clumsy than the one in his metaphor because it cannot crack its own nuts. When you are powerless, then you go to court, you are helpless. Seventh election and you have no message, no idea and no platform. For you, power is an end in itself and you are self-sufficient. You get mad at the voters and stomp your foot when few vote for you. This is so naive. At the moment, the parties are fighting mud fights. Splashes rain down on everyone and no one will be left clean. We have fallen to a low level and there is no question about Schengen and the Eurozone anymore", sociologist Ivo Zelev said in his turn in "Denyat ON AIR".
According to him, by turning to the court to solve their problems, the parties show that they are insolvent and do not solve people's problems.

A record low voter turnout is expected
"We are going to 1.5 million voters in this election. 700-800 will come out to vote by virtue of their dependence on the oligarchy. It will turn out that half our vote is controlled. With 1.5 million people active, the parliament will be entered with about 60 thousand votes. This is some BGN 6 million, which is the cost of a decent house. The only thing that can stop the realization of this plot is that after so many elections, the dirty money has run out. The second - the politicians will see that this parliament will not give birth to anything special either. And March to go to new elections. New elections will not solve anything. This political elite is completely exhausted," Zelev believes.
Kolyo Kolev pointed out that it is not just people who withdraw from the elections, but serious people who think that politics is a mechanism to do something and serve to achieve national goals.

"There are only those left for whom politics is "Come on, ours" - zealots. In these elections, we may get a million and a half voters, I agree,", he noted.

Which DPS will win the voters' vote?
"DPS is a closed party that keeps its things in the kitchen. Apparently, Mr. Peevski controls some of the local structures. There is a chance that it will be able to pass the 4 percent barrier. Some 60 thousand votes with a low turnout.

The other faction will receive support from another part of the structures that are on the side of Ahmed Dogan. But the damage will be to both parts. Their political weight will be minimized. People who have been spinning tobacco and wondering how to make ends meet are not the only ones. One third of our population suffers from a water crisis," commented Kolev.
In the last elections, 17% voted for formations that did not enter the parliament. People are looking for an alternative, he emphasized.

Ivo Zelev pointed out that if Peevski controls half of the electorate of the old DPS, it would be a success for the new formation.

"Entering the parliament with 15-20 deputies would be a huge success for Peevski. His strategy was to say, "These are bad." But this does not mean that it shines with the light reflected from them. Achieved a tactical victory. We will see what will be born later", explained the sociologist.
