The Director of the Agency "Customs" will have to prepare a unified strategy for managing traffic and throughput at all border crossing points in the country. This was decided at an interdepartmental meeting in the Ministry of the Interior, BNT reported.
It was attended by the Ministers of Internal Affairs Atanas Ilkov, Ministers of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova, Ministers of Agriculture and Food Georgi Takhov, Deputy Minister of Transport Dimitar Nedyalkov, Georgi Dimov – director Agency "Customs" and Ch. Commissioner Anton Zlatanov – director General Directorate "Border Police".
During the meeting, it was reported that, traditionally, around September 1, a huge accumulation of heavy goods and car traffic is observed. In this sense, urgent measures were discussed and identified to ease and shorten the time for vehicles to pass through the border points – Lesovo, Kapitan Andreevo, Danube bridge – Ruse and Danube bridge – Vidin.
The ministers expressed their willingness to check on the spot the work of their subordinate employees, as well as to analyze the implementation of the organizational measures taken.
During the meeting, it was once again emphasized that the biggest losses from our country's non-admission to land Schengen are suffered by Bulgarian carriers.
