The Central Election Commission and the Council of Ministers discussed the preparation and conduct of the elections on October 27. After the meeting, the chairman of the CEC, Kamelia Neikova, announced that they have the full support of the authorities.
„Regarding the specialized paper for machine voting, I want to emphasize that since the change of the Electoral Code at the end of 2022, until now - the supplier is the printing house of the BNB. The requirements have been met. They were sent to the CEC in early 2023 by the manufacturer of the voting machines. The same are provided to the contractor of the machine voting activities – “Siela norm”. Any information that the CEC has commissioned the supply of paper that does not meet the requirements is not true. On Friday, we sent a request to the manager of the BNB printing office of the bank to publicly take a position on the subject, so as not to create tension, Neikova explained.
