Stanislav Bachev: Politicians are responsible for the collapse of statehood - 1

We are in a state of catastrophe and collapse of statehood. The state is in a deepening spiral of crises, and the political is both a function and a cause. This is what Stanislav Bachev, doctor of political science, told "Focus“.

The responsibility for the state of the state, for the collapse of statehood and society lies with politicians and political parties, he pointed out. "The state of this country is a function of the mistakes, the incompetence, but also the greed and external dependencies of those I call the "anti-elite” at the moment“, declared Bachev.

The stakes of the upcoming early parliamentary elections are high, he believes. "We are approaching a critical and turning point in which we will be faced with the choice of either blowing up the system or witnessing our own gradual extinction over time,”, predicted the political scientist.

According to him, the positioning of the parties after the vote does not matter, as the responsibility for the national disaster is shared.

Stanislav Bachev expects an even lower voter turnout and an outflow of voters for all political forces. According to him, changing the electoral system and introducing a majority or mixed vote would only benefit the first political power – COAT OF ARMS. "There are currently no major parties in Bulgaria. BSP, for example, failed to understand that the problem is not just personal, but substantive, electoral, and even ideological. The most telling is what is happening in DPS, which was considered the most stable party, but actually turned out to be sick with the same disease. A clash for the same shrinking electorate is yet to come, the political scientist commented.

The formation of a new "assembly“ according to him, it will only slow down the processes, but will not bypass them. "What lies ahead is an unavoidable process. We have to go through our suffering in this next election. "They are a necessary agony," Bachev believes.

He expects new early elections in March or April next year.

According to him, the only institution in the country that still carries legitimacy at the moment is the presidential one. "It is the only chance to get out of the catastrophe in a peaceful way”, the political scientist believes.
