No customs operations were carried out through the territory of Bulgaria with communication equipment such as pagers.

This was announced by the "National Security" State Agency. (DANS) in connection with media publications in which it is claimed that a company registered in Bulgaria supplied the Lebanese organization “Hezbollah” the exploded pagers on the territory of Lebanon and Syria.

In the announcement it was added that DANS is carrying out joint inspections with the National Revenue Agency and the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the complicity of the company registered in Bulgaria in the supply of communication equipment for the Lebanese organization “Hezbollah”.

A Bulgarian company imported the pagers, which were subsequently sold to "Hezbollah", claims the Hungarian publication "Telex", citing sources familiar with the case, Deutsche Welle previously wrote.

A Bulgarian company handed over the pagers to "Hezbollah", the Hungarian company was only used on paper, writes the Hungarian publication "Telex", citing sources.

A Sofia-based company bought the pagers from Taiwan, which were subsequently sold to Hezbollah, the publication claimed, adding that the devices were never located in Hungary. This information has meanwhile been officially confirmed by the Hungarian government.

Two waves of wireless communication device explosions in Lebanon and Syria over the past two days have killed dozens and injured thousands of people.

It is assumed that in the explosions of pagers of fighters from "Hezbollah" it is a coordinated attack. According to sources close to the group, the pagers went off almost simultaneously.

Meanwhile "Hezbollah" blamed Israel for the blasts and threatened retaliation. The devices are believed to have been detonated using state-of-the-art technology.
