The Chief Mufti sent a written instruction to all imams in the country not to participate in political events before the start of the election campaign, and not to speak on topics related to the internal party dispute in the DPS, the BNR reported. The same requirements are addressed to other religious officials.
Until now, it was easy - the DPS ideologically and organizationally overlapped with the religious denomination, clerics campaigned for the party. But in the scandal between Delyan Peevski and Ahmed Dogan, it is clearly necessary not to take sides.
Acquaintances explained that the ban on participating in political events is the beginning of the campaign with a specific deadline, because within its framework, in one way or another, clergymen are officially invited.
