The work of the media in Europe is aimed at generating interest, with publications about scandals surrounding the candidates for European commissioners. However, everything depends on the presentation of the specific candidate for European Commissioner. This was stated by MEP Radan Kanev in the program "Face to Face" on BTV.

Ms. Zaharieva's portfolio is extremely important and I believe that Mrs. Zaharieva will be excellently prepared, he believes.

„Mario Draghi's report states that Europe is drastically lagging behind in the field of innovation, which is also why economic growth is lagging behind China and the US. There is a huge lack of investment in innovation. This is the question that we have to solve in the coming years. A huge part of the funds must come from the private markets, after which they return to investors. The problem is that we do not have well-developed financial markets. Another problem is the more expensive one paid by businesses in our region”, explained the MEP.

In his words, Bulgaria can and has a chance to develop in the field of innovation. Being smaller gives us huge advantages. Our economy is more flexible and more adaptive, Radan Kanev thinks.

The MEP also commented on the subject of the upcoming early elections in our country. He believes that it is wrong to say that the winners of the elections are clear in advance. “Let's see who will perform in the elections. Whoever thinks that the results of these elections are predictable doesn't understand anything," Kanev said. According to him, there will be surprises in these elections.

In his words, there are people who can take on the role of a supra-party candidate for prime minister. “Whatever name I mention, it will be burned, so I will not comment. The question is whether they can be convinced in this extremely muddy environment in Bulgaria to take on such responsibility, he said.

„I will be critical of one thing, I do not welcome the idea of thinking about an expert government, but with a limited term of action and specific tasks. A government should have sufficient horizon to implement unpopular measures. We need to think about a 3-4 year management program, because we are many years behind the world economy”, Radan Kanev also said.
