RIC-Blagoevgrad warns: Mass changes in SIKs may compromise the delivery of election papers - 1

Mass changes in the sectional commissions in Blagoevgrad region may compromise the procedure for handing over election materials, warned the Regional Election Commission, quoted by BNR.

Exactly at 10:00 a.m. the handing over of election papers began in the municipality of Blagoevgrad, and the administration was ready to distribute them yesterday. However, their employees faced a huge problem, admits the secretary of the municipality Desislava Vitanova.

"The total chaos and people's ignorance that they are part of a section, what position they are in the respective section, we really can't get people to come, get their materials,", she explained.

The changes in the composition of the sectional commissions in all municipalities of the Blagoevgrad region continue at the moment, which creates real chaos, said the chairman of the Regional Election Commission, Martin Busarov.

"On Friday, a person who should be the chairman is submitted. We appoint him on Saturday. He is being replaced by another person who is being replaced this morning. We have e-mails at 4:30 in the morning, here's an example, in the municipality of Razlog we have 9 or 10 chairmen and vice-chairmen who were replaced last night at 7:30 p.m. We don't know to whom we are actually handing over papers and materials," Busarov described the situation.

"If documents are not submitted, the section will not be sealed, and, accordingly, there will be no way to start the election day", explained the chairman of RIC - Blagoevgrad.

"We are on the verge of crossing a thin red line in the organization of elections, from which there will be no going back. "The parties showed, in my opinion, extreme carelessness and an incorrect attitude towards the election process," Busarov warned.
