It is extremely important how the procedure will proceed for the election of the chief prosecutor. Let's see if we will have a chief prosecutor in the person of Borislav Sarafov or not. One of the big questions is whether PP-DB will take on the role of opposition to GERB and whether they will want Sarafov to withdraw his candidacy. If they back down, things will go badly in the next election for PP-DB. This was commented by the political psychologist Prof. Antoineta Hristova in the show "The Day ON AIR".
Political scientist Georgi Kiryakov and Prof. Hristova emphasized that GERB is setting the bar for party leader Boyko Borisov to be prime minister.
"The subject of the cordon around Peevski is very important. I am curious how Peevski will behave in the parliament. The problem comes from the fact that he leads a small political formation, on the other hand, everyone will very shyly move around him and pretend that they are not part of him. He is bright, strong, shows his opinion, leads, determines", pointed out Prof. Hristova.
According to Kiryakov Peevski is not a comfortable partner for Borisov. The political scientist noted that the other line that Borisov hardly crossed was the BSP, but added that during the campaign, the GERB leader said that he would negotiate with all parties, without "Revival". Kiryakov clarified to Bulgaria ON AIR that Boyko Borisov is the leading figure - he has the obligation to propose a cabinet and form a majority, because GERB is the first political force.
"Borisov is not calm and is waiting to see whether the path Sarafov has taken will end successfully. There are many obstacles on the way", Prof. Hristova explained.
Kiryakov and Prof. Hristova do not see a successful configuration for forming a government. According to Kiryakov, the conditions of PP-DP are always such that Borisov rejects them.
