What is happening in the parliament is a mockery of the Bulgarian people, to put it mildly. We see people's elected officials doing the same thing for more than a month now and strange why they expect a different result. And we hear ridiculous from those who do not correspond at all with having a working parliament or going to elections. They are hoping for only one thing - to keep their seats and wait until January 16, the day when the chief prosecutor will be elected. This was stated by Georgi Svilenski in the program "Delnitsi" of Eurocom.
„When there is no majority to form a government, the oldest is elected. What prevents the PG of the BSP, the DB from electing the oldest deputy as chairman – there is no answer to this question. To start the work of the parliament, to adopt the budget law, the tax laws. People don't care who will be the chairman of the National Assembly – they care about whether they will get their pension, whether the company will work, whether taxes will be raised or not, whether they will be able to pay their electricity, water – if there are any at all, because this is already a problem”, said Svilenski and added:
„But they don't think about it at all - they have been imitating the same activity for more than a month. They know very well what they are doing. They do it, not because they don't know, it's just that Peevski and Borisov said so. Peevski and Borisov have a government, they don't want an elected government, they don't want a majority – Borisov and Peevski have a majority, ministers, agency directors, he pointed out.
„I just wonder why these MPs from the BSP are hanging on to their wits. You can see that only GERB and BSP voted for Kiselova and some thanks were then exchanged. If they will enter management – to enter, to make it clear to the Bulgarian society that the BSP has been sold and handed over to Borisov”, the long-time deputy from the BSP pointed out, stressing:
„I cannot accept that the BSP has become a service party and a crutch for Borisov and Peevski. You see that Borisov quite purposefully supported the BSP's candidacy – Nataliya Kiselova, to make it so that the BSP cannot support Silvi Kirilov in the runoff. I don't know if these BSP managers don't understand it or if they are really playing in a behind-the-scenes game, Svilenski reacted and, in response to a remark in the studio, added: Zafirov goes and prays to Borisov and Peevski during the day, and watches TV in the afternoon and evening studios to thank Borisov and Peevski for what great statesmen they were. Those who ruined the state had statesmanlike behavior because they supported Nataliya Kiselova”.
In his words, there is a majority in the parliament to remove Borisov and Peevski from power – but they don't want it from the BSP. “It should be understood that Borisov, Peevski, Zafirov and Gutsanov are on one side – on the other side are those who want to isolate Peevski and Borisov from the government. BSP held a round table yesterday. And only GERBs go to the round table. I.e. the round table has turned into a cup of coffee with GERB“, comments Svilenski.
When asked in the studio why the new building of the National Assembly does not say "Union makes strength", Svilenski answered: "Because they haven't earned it yet". And he predicts: “There folklore will give birth to other inscriptions: 9 times we cannot elect a chairman. We are hypocrites. We fight in the corridors.
Asked if he misses the parliament, the former BSP MP said: “Of course, as a person who has been in the parliament for 10 years, I am sick of what is happening. But apparently God was above us, because he saved us from being in this parliament.
