Everything has become quite personal. In the last few days, we have seen how major political figures in the country behave like people who have a dispute over condominium ownership. One is angry with the other for illegally arresting him. The other says that he will not talk to the first because he did not sign his declaration. The third is angry with everyone, says that he will not come here, including here. This was said by the leader of "Vazrazhdane" Kostadin Kostadinov at the consultations with the president on forming a government.
“In Bulgarian politics, the people who are at the top must put the national interest first. That is why we at "Vazrazhdane" do not allow ourselves to make the process personal. Instead - we are talking about policies. We have very serious problems as a people and a state. They are not new. Because measures are not being taken, they are becoming more and more serious,” he explained.
And he stated the readiness of “Vazrazhdane” to propose a composition of the Council of Ministers in the event that Radev hands them a third mandate. “Regarding the first and second, either there will be something very frivolous and unprincipled, or it will be something that will prolong the agony of the current political status quo”, he argued.
And he outlined two main priorities for “Vazrazhdane”: “This is the survival of the country's energy system. The problem with the water regime in some places in the country is another important topic. It will become more and more serious. The networks are depreciating. We need to work with a perspective, to have a capital program for the next 20 years. In the name of the fetish for entering the eurozone, millions of Bulgarians are being sacrificed in this budget. The capital program of municipalities is being limited. An extremely restrictive budget framework is being created, which condemns several million Bulgarians to suffering for at least 12 months,” Kostadinov also said.
“We are ready to take responsibility. We will form a cabinet of policies not for the survival, but for the flourishing of Bulgaria”, the leader of “Vazrazhdane” also stated.
“We are at a critical historical moment, in which the crisis can give us opportunities, but it can also send us to the bottom. We should not allow personal biases, ambitions, crony schemes and other such petty addictions to cast doubt on the future of Bulgaria. If it turns out that we have new elections in the spring, the voter turnout will be even lower. Then there are crooks who see that there is no problem if you buy a few tens of thousands of votes or create a political parliament or lie to our gullible compatriots, our parliament will finally turn into a casino”, Kostadinov further commented.
