A family from Varna accuses the medical team of the Emergency Medical Care Center of not doing everything possible to save their one-year-old boy. On Wednesday, the child developed a fever and the parents called the emergency medics.
The children's ambulance, which is equipped with resuscitation equipment, was immediately sent to the scene. The mother, Iskra Staneva, told BNT that the medical team tried to help the child on the spot for nearly two hours, and the ambulance did not go to a hospital.
According to her, this was a mistake. A second resuscitation team arrived in front of the child's home. The mother also said that in the morning little Svetlen was fine, a little later he developed a fever and then they sought medical help. The Varna District Prosecutor's Office stated that the medical team that arrived at the child's home only confirmed his death.
Initial data indicate that the boy died of pneumonia. The autopsy report is expected to show whether there was another underlying cause of the child's death, the prosecutor's office added.
