Monthly benefits for raising a child until the completion of secondary education, but no older than 20 years of age, known as child benefits, will be paid with an income of up to 760 leva per family member – this is provided for in the draft state budget for 2025, BNR reported.

So far, the threshold was 710 leva per person. The one-time pregnancy benefit remains at 225 leva, and women from families with an average monthly income for the previous 12 months of up to 860 leva per person will be entitled to it instead of the current 810 leva.

Child benefits, one-time benefits for students from first to fourth and eighth grades, as well as supplements for children with disabilities are determined each year by the budget law. For 2025, the monthly child benefits remain unchanged. They are 50 leva for a family with one child, 110 leva for two children, 165 leva for three and 175 leva for a family with four children, with the benefit increasing by 20 leva for each subsequent child.

However, the threshold for access to benefits is increasing, which is mainly related to the increase in the minimum wage for the country to 1077 leva.

For families with incomes from 760 leva and 1 stotinka to 860 leva per person, 80 percent of the determined child benefits are paid. Until now, the access threshold in this case was from 710 leva and one penny to 810 leva.

The allowance for raising twins remains 75 leva per month, as well as the one-time allowance for children enrolled in the first to fourth and eighth grades remains 300 leva next year. The one-time allowance for raising twins is also unchanged - 1200 leva for each child and does not depend on income.

The monthly allowance for raising a child with a permanent disability up to the age of 18 and until completion of secondary education, but no later than the age of 20, which do not depend on the family's income, for next year remain from 450 to 1180 leva, depending on the type and degree of disability or permanently reduced working capacity. For another year, there has been no change in the one-time child-rearing allowance for a mother who is a student and enrolled in a full-time program of 2,880 leva.
