Karakachanov: We see a caretaker government that fulfills the political will of the DPS and GERB

This budget, which is practically offered to us by the caretaker government, is a murder for business and the economy. Not only me, not only us - many experts say that this is a catastrophic budget for the Bulgarian economy, commented the leader of VMRO

Karakachanov: We see a caretaker government that fulfills the political will of the DPS and GERB - 1

The second day of negotiations between GERB and DB ended without a final "handshake". The two forces also found common ground on the sanitary cordon and the PP-DB declaration. In their meetings with the BSP, GERB also found common ground.

"It seems to me like buying time around the holidays so that they can have some peaceful New Year holidays, and whether there will be a government, God only knows. They can make a majority. It seems that GERB, DB, ITN and BSP have managed to reach an understanding, but the question is not whether they will form a majority, the question is in the name of what they are doing it, said VMRO leader Krasimir Karakachanov in the studio of "Denyat ON AIR".
The budget will kill the economy
He defined the proposed budget as "murder for business and the economy", supporting the criticism of a number of economists.

"This budget, which is practically offered to us by the caretaker government, is murder for business and the economy. Not only me, not only us - many experts say that this is a catastrophic budget for the Bulgarian economy. We see a caretaker government that carries out the political will of DPS and GERB - both in terms of personnel appointments and in terms of public procurement. This budget was made to appeal to the pre-election crowd, as it was expected that there would be snap elections in March-April," Karakachanov told Bulgaria ON AIR.

According to Karakachanov, the same logic is observed in healthcare as in the old money-stealing systems. He claims that the goal is to benefit certain people who are connected to political parties. In fact, these parties gravitate around a few oligarchs and economic groups.

"Over 10 billion for a population of 6.3 million. I have given you the example here - 2002, with a population of 8 million, the healthcare budget was 860 million. Someone will say: "That was 20 years ago". Yes, but then the lev was tied to the euro, we were in a currency board, just like now. Of course, there have been changes in many things, but a 10-fold, already 12-fold increase in the budget with a 25% smaller population, and the effect is zero," noted the leader of VMRO.
