The comment that I am ruining the negotiations for a regular cabinet is getting louder. This was said by acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, who is on a visit to Brussels, quoted by Nova TV. According to him, on Friday the Council of Ministers received confirmation from the Ukrainian side that the signing will take place in Brussels. The Prime Minister assured that he is the person who most strongly wants a regular government to be formed and is perplexed by how the conclusion was reached that it was he who was trying to ruin the negotiations for one.
„The agreement is in absolute harmony with the previous decisions of the National Assembly and I have no concerns about the texts in it”, Glavchev was categorical. However, he stressed that the only concern is the 10-year term, which he requested to be agreed with the deputies. “If it is not approved by the National Assembly, I will not sign it. I will ask the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to show understanding and wait for the decision of the parliament”, the Prime Minister also said. The two statesmen also have the option of postponing the Agreement so that it can be signed by a regular cabinet.
We recall that the caretaker Prime Minister requested permission from the deputies to initial a 10-year Agreement on Security Cooperation between Bulgaria and Ukraine. Later, the Prime Minister announced that he would not do so unless he gathered a majority of support in the National Assembly.
