Valeria Veleva: The Prosecutor's Office is clearing the ground for Borisov to form a government - 1

Another requested immunity, and the talks on forming a government continue.

"The negotiations are going quite difficult, but there are signals that at least there is time until the beginning of next year. We have a convergence of positions. Yesterday, the ITN sat down at the table to discuss sectoral policies. GERB started the talks with the second ones with difficulty. The actions of the prosecutor's office also resonated with the third and fourth forces. Only the BSP and the ITN remained on the sidelines of this process," said sociologist Elena Darieva in "Denyat ON AIR".
According to Valeria Veleva, the possibility of forming a government is 50/50.

"The prosecutor's office is clearing the ground for Borisov to form a government because it eliminates the PP-DB on one indicator - violation of the law. There is serious pressure from the EPP to form a government. Politics in Bulgaria alternates every 6 months. We do not have a long political cycle. We are in permanent elections. The prosecutor's office has been sleeping for the last 3 years and has not taken any action," the journalist added for Bulgaria ON AIR.
The end of the coalition between the PP and the DB is possible
According to Darieva, this is a not very convincing action by the prosecutor's office in an attempt to clean up the reputational damage that it is not acting impartially

"The prosecutor's office is becoming more active. Its actions and acts find their echo in political reactions. Yesterday, it very motivatedly described why it wants these 6 immunities. The motivation was particularly strong in the case of Lena Borislavova and the MP from the MRF, who had a detailed indictment. The prosecutor's actions are in response to suspicions that it was not entirely impartial," the guest explained.
The rift between "We continue the change" and "Democratic Bulgaria" is a fact, Veleva is categorical.

"The decision of the Constitutional Court has been issued, which refused to interpret the politicians' requests for the legality of the Supreme Judicial Council, which means that the procedure for electing a new prosecutor general continues. This evening, information came out that GERB and DB have agreed to sign the agreement with Ukraine under a regular government,", the journalist explained.
