Dzhevdet Chakarov: We are for a regular government. But not one that depends on personal and oligarchic interests

“Kurtulus Bayram is a holiday of democracy!” This was said by the chairman of the MRF, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dzhevdet Chakarov in the village of Breznitsa. Chakarov, together with the leadership of the MRF and members of parliament, were in the village of Breznitsa in the Gotse Delchevo region for a commemorative rally, the party's press center reported on its Facebook page.
On December 29, 1989, a plenum of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party restored the names of Bulgarian Muslims. The plenum in question was preceded by round-the-clock protests in the capital and in the squares of Muslim villages throughout Bulgaria.
Chakarov offered special greetings to the honorary chairman, Dr. Ahmed Dogan.
“35 years ago on this date, our mother's names were restored to nearly 850 thousand Bulgarian citizens, Muslims, who live in our homeland.”
“We were the first to raise our voice in the period 85-89 with the illegal organization and the structure that was created. We stood up to regain our rights and freedoms. That was the beginning. Then the MRF was founded, thanks to the honorary chairman and all the founders”, Chakarov also said.
“We are also grateful to all our shehids (martyrs).”
“What we achieved for Bulgaria is to accelerate the dismantling of the totalitarian communist regime and the beginning of democratic changes. We have given our gift and will continue to give for the unity of Bulgaria”, he was categorical.
Chakarov also said that democracy is not a given, as well as rights and freedoms. We must be together and defend rights and freedoms. This is our cause.
“I thank all 25 members of parliament from the 50th National Assembly. I especially thank Ibraim Zaydenov and Ahmed Vranchev, who were on the right path, in the right place, next to Dr. Ahmed Dogan and with the Authentic MRF”, said the MRF chairman.
“The entire democratic community must stand for the restoration of democracy and for the normality of the state, without dependencies. We are for a regular government. The country desperately needs this. But not just any government, dependent on personal and oligarchic interests. For us, what is important is what is set in the sanitary cordon - without the New Beginning and for the state institutions to function normally”, said Chairman Chakarov.
He also stated that we will have even better results if there are elections. But if a government can be formed, with clear priorities and clear goals, we would support such a government, Chakarov pointed out.
“We will be even stronger to solve people's problems and defend our rights and freedoms.”
“If we are united and strong, we can take our destiny into our own hands. I assure you that we will again be the active ones who will restore democracy and statehood in Bulgaria. This honor falls to us”, was categorical the Chairman of the MRF.
“Thank you to everyone who is here - from Southern and Northern Bulgaria and the guests from Turkey. Thank you to each and every one of those over 183,000 voters who supported us in the last elections to preserve our party, our community, and our identity. Our path continues”, concluded Chakarov.
Before the memorial rally, flowers were laid and a prayer was read at the grave of Ayrush Hadji and Bayram Geta in the village of Kornitsa.
The memorial rally was also attended by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Khayri Sadakov, the Deputy Speakers of the MRF Jeyhan Ibryamov, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, Sevim Ali, Dr. Rumen Pehlivanov, the MPs Ahmed Vranchev, Remzi Osman, Pavlin Krastev, Mehmed Salim, Myumyun Myumyun, Esheref Esheref, Krasimir Krasimirov, the member of the Central Executive Committee Andrzej Dzhandev, the Chairman of the Youth MRF Tanzer Yuseinov, the Regional Chairman of the MRF Blagoevgrad and Chairman of the Youth MRF Ibraim Zaydenov and the Mayor of the Municipality of Saray Abdul Tashyasan, mayors of municipalities and regional and municipal chairmen of DPS.
