The cause of the fire in the train at the Central Station in Sofia is still unclear. The train was not abandoned, but was in operation. The deceased were homeless people.

"People who are homeless are vulnerable groups. Those who use improvised materials to keep warm. They often become victims of fires. An investigation is currently underway," said Alexander Dzhartov.
During the winter season, fires are mainly in households and are due to heating appliances. To protect ourselves, appliances should not be placed next to combustible materials. Chimneys should be cleaned before the heating season, the fire chief reminded.
