Increasing prices by mobile operators without the consent of customers is an unfair commercial practice and is prohibited by an order of the Chairperson of the Consumer Protection Commission Maria Filipova, the Commission announced, quoted by BNR.
After inspections, it was found that two of the mobile operators changed the terms of existing contracts, including increasing monthly fees, without reaching a written agreement with consumers.
Now, all operators who violated the law are obliged to immediately cease the implementation of the unilateral changes in the contracts.
The Consumer Protection Commission will impose the appropriate property sanctions on the operators. The sanction provided for in the law is up to 50,000 leva for each unfair commercial practice applied.
