Sociologist Yuri Aslanov talks about the balance of the “Zhelyazkov” cabinet, about party trends throughout the world, about trust in politicians in the program “The Day Live” on NOVA NEWS.

“From the point of view of the interests of the political formations that make it up, the cabinet is well balanced and provides a fragile but stable majority. From the point of view of public opinion, it is difficult to call it balanced, because people cannot initially give it credit of trust. The reason is the diverse representation in it – because of the history of the individual formations, including the relationships between them. This is another cabinet that starts with an exhausted credit of trust”, said Aslanov and explained that public trust is not returning.

As for the expected policy of the current government, he does not expect a change in the country's foreign policy orientation. Regarding the exit of the parties of Tatyana Doncheva and Velizar Enchev from the composition of “BSP - United Left”, Aslanov said: “For the BSP, either good or nothing. In this case, better nothing”. He believes that the PP and DB have saved themselves by not participating in the composition of the current cabinet.

Regarding political processes throughout the world, he quotes a thought by Antonio Gramsci, expressed in the 1920s, which, according to him, is still relevant today. “When an era passes away, but the contours of what comes in its place are not yet clear, monsters are born”.

”In the 1920s and 1930s, the monster that was born from the crisis of the then system was fascism. Now it is not clear where the world is going and what monster will be born from this ambiguity, but obviously the whole world is in a systemic crisis and humanity is in great trouble”, said Aslanov.

According to him, we see crises of political systems in almost all EU countries, and not only in the European Union. “I am afraid that not only are we not at the end of the political crisis, but we have not even reached its peak”, predicted Aslanov.

He gave the example of neighboring Romania. “There, the political class became so enraged and offended by the people that they canceled the elections. Here, there is something similar, insofar as in the eyes of the majority of people, the institutions, their behavior, the parties - especially, in the face of their elites, look, to put it mildly, disgusting. On the one hand, we have a governing coalition made up of the disgusting, on the other hand, we have a silent majority, increasingly distancing itself from the politics of the disgusting. There is no way this is a harbinger of a resolution to the end of the political crisis”, the sociologist stated.
