Municipality gives 10,000 leva for third child - 1

A Bulgarian municipality has been stimulating the birth rate and has been offering a solution to limit the demographic crisis since last year. The local government in Gorna Oryahovitsa has been granting 10,000 leva for a third child, with five families already benefiting from the financial support. For the Nikolovi family, the help after the birth of little Adrian came just in time for a new nursery, bTV reports.

Adriana and Petar Nikolovi met 11 years ago while both were working on a cruise ship in France. Adriana is from Yambol, and Petar is from Gorna Oryahovitsa. After some time, they returned to Petar's hometown, where their children were born.

„We both worked there, that's where fate met us - in Paris. We met there, then we lived together in Bulgaria. When she got pregnant with her first child, she stopped and has been on maternity leave ever since. Pavel was born in 2019, in November, then we had a break because of Sofia, and now, in November, Adrian was born, with Adrian and Pavel on two consecutive days“, says Petar.

The appearance of little Adrian was unexpected, but he brought a lot of joy and emotion to the family.

“It was a surprise for us and when we found out we were very happy, there was no doubt whether to continue with the pregnancy…One day, when the baby starts to sit up and walk, then they will start helping. They are very happy about it“, explains Petar.

“My sister also has three children, they live in Germany, they recently came back and maybe that's why we decided to have a third, because we see that they are very happy and doing well“, shares Adriana.

Although his family has become large, Petar continues to work as a manager in the cruise company. The grandmothers are actively involved in raising the children.
