The stakes of this government are much more serious than the MECH case. It rather creates problems with regard to the leadership of the National Assembly. The political effect is negative for absolutely all participants except MECH. This was said by political scientist Tatyana Burudzhieva in the program "Morning in Focus" on Radio "Focus".
She noted that the MECH case comes immediately after the Constitutional Court's decision on the elections, which further contributes to the withdrawal of trust from politicians and strengthens doubts about the legitimacy of the elections. "Nothing useful for society and politics came from this decision. I believe that, apart from the letter of the law, it is crucial that society feels the usefulness of the actions that are taking place in our political system," commented Burudzhieva.
Regarding the claims of Natalia Kiselova that the MECH case was discussed at the Council of Presidents, and Slavi Trifonov that this issue was not discussed, the political scientist stated that an explanation for the discrepancy should be sought. "There was a shake-up and doubts about the stability of the government and its functioning, which in my opinion has no political and rational explanation. In any case, the case needs clarification“, the political scientist emphasized.
According to her, Natalia Kiselova should reconsider her decision on Wednesday. "But even if this happens and the MECH PG returns, the case is not resolved. We must be aware that the attacks against Ms. Kiselova will not stop. The process of trying to replace the Speaker of the National Assembly is just beginning“, believes Burudzhieva.
