A 70-year-old man has been detained in Silistra after hitting a 33-year-old woman on a pedestrian crossing.
His drug test has returned a positive result for benzodiazepine.
The incident took place today, May 2, at 08:36 on "Macedonia" Boulevard in the city.
Although there is currently no evidence of serious injuries, the woman has been admitted to the Silistra General Hospital for observation as a preventive measure.
A blood sample was taken from the man for additional analysis and he was detained for up to 24 hours.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case and all circumstances surrounding the incident are being clarified.
