100 days have passed since the regular cabinet of Rosen Zhelyazkov took office. During this time, it went through two votes of no confidence and remained without a majority. What has the government managed to do and what has not in the past 100 days?
„An undisputed success of this government is the submission of the convergence reports for the eurozone. It is a success because it continues its policy of better integration into the EU“, commented journalist Emilia Milcheva in „This Saturday“
According to her, the two votes of no confidence in the cabinet of „Zhelyazkov“ were purely propaganda, and the second – “helpful to the ruling majority“, because it has parried the possibility of presenting other votes of no confidence.
“The second positive news for the first 100 days of the government is the attempt and success of Rosen Zhelyazkov as Prime Minister to renegotiate part of the money under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, which we considered lost. That is where the good news ends for me“, Milcheva pointed out.
“This government managed to create stability and a little more security for the people. They stopped that cycle in which we went to elections every three or four months. If we had continued in the same direction, most likely in the next elections the percentage of those who would vote would probably be below 20%“, said PR expert Nidal Algaffari.
“The fact is that the government is currently supported by a majority of four political formations, at least to some extent“, he added.
“It is no longer a question of affirming this majority, but of “whitening it“. What we are observing with the belittling of the individuals from the “Magnitsky“ list, we see an attempt to whiten not only Mr. Peevski, but also the people from GERB who are on this list“, commented Emilia Milcheva.
In her words, this “whitening“ will lead to people perceiving the presence of “DPS-New Beginning“ and Delyan Peevski in the official government as something normal.
“The first ones who started “whitening him“ were named Lorer, Kiril Petkov, Gen. Atanasov. Everyone at one time said that he had changed, that he was a different person, that he could be worked with. As far as I remember, they relied mainly on his people in the National Assembly, so for “whitening“, we have to go back a little“, said Nidal Algaffari, for his part.
“They were the ones who did everything in their power to make Peevski the force he is at the moment“, he added.
