"Vazrazhdane" is starting negotiations to introduce a vote of no confidence against the "Zhelyazkov" cabinet. The main topic will be the state's finances, MP Petar Petrov announced on Bulgaria ON AIR.

"The vote is because of a fake budget, which was drawn up solely to get Bulgaria into the Eurozone. There is a failure to implement the revenue part, it is important for us that this government be overthrown," Petrov said.

The "Vazrazhdane" MPs will seek support from other parliamentary groups, since they do not have enough representatives to introduce the vote on their own.

"Tomorrow we will have consultations with the other parliamentary groups — 'Majesty', MECH, APS of Dogan. PP-DB are not a real opposition at the moment," the MP emphasized.

According to Petrov, the situation in parliament is unpredictable and it is possible that the vote will succeed, even though the ruling party has a majority. He predicts that the country will head towards early elections.

"I am sure that we will go to new parliamentary elections, the question is whether they will be in the middle or at the end of September. We see representatives of parliamentary groups making tours of their regions," Petrov emphasized.

The MP paid particular attention to his position on Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone. According to him, the country is being forced to adopt the euro without consulting its citizens.

"Talks are being prepared with the Trump team, the euro will also be discussed, because the right of Bulgarians to a referendum 'for' or 'against' its introduction is not being respected. Bulgaria is being forced to enter the eurozone," said Petrov.

He also commented on the expected tariffs that US President Donald Trump will impose on goods from Europe, seeing in them a potential benefit for Bulgaria.

"The Americans are trying to conclude a trade agreement with the EU. They will try to do everything so that there is no strong eurozone with a growing number of members. That is why we must preserve the leva and the currency board so that prices do not rise," Petrov concluded.
