I would not wish for any of my colleagues to have to waive their immunity. But, if it has already come to a request from the prosecutor's office, it would be right not to put us under pressure and test, and for those who have been asked for immunity to give it up themselves. This was said by GERB-SDF MP Rumen Hristov on the air of "Your Day".
"Now there is one group of MPs who gave up their immunity and another who did not. Thus, they leave it on the shoulders of their colleagues in parliament to decide their fates. Thus, the impression is formed that if you do not give up your immunity, it will not be taken away and impunity is almost formed. In my opinion, it is a personal choice whether you give yourself immunity", he commented.
"We voted not to include the items on the requested immunities in the agenda. I will tell you why. In this week's program, we have 8 bills, some of which are on the second vote, some on the first. We have a lot of work. We are constantly reproached that the parliament is not engaged in legislative activity, which is its main function. We are constantly hearing someone or dealing with some immunities", the MP explained.
According to him, the Minister of the Interior will come to a hearing in parliament when there is a possibility for this to happen and after he returns from a business trip.
On the topic of the requested resignation of the Speaker of Parliament, Hristov said that he does not think that it will be accepted, on the contrary - the majority will support her to remain in her post.
