„The increase in the subsidy to the Sofia Municipality for Urban Transport this year is 17 million leva. Won by the unions in Budget 2025, not by the mayor. This makes an average of 200 leva. increase for 7,000 workers in the four companies. Yesterday, during the negotiations, the mayor offered 15 million leva for bonuses that people did not accept and asked to be included in the basic salary. So in reality we have 17 million leva long ago given by the state and 15 million leva that the mayor offered yesterday. A total of 32 million leva. This makes an average of 380 leva increase for these 7,000 workers. Instead, he finally offered only 180 leva, which as a total expense is no more than 15 million leva. This is even less than the increased subsidy that the Ministry of Finance gave him thanks to the unions“.
This was explained on his Facebook profile by the economist from the Confederation of Bulgarian Trade Unions, Lyuboslav Kostov.
He also attached a report that in 2024, out of the Sofia Municipality's budget for capital expenditures worth 610 million leva, only 385 million leva were implemented.
“Implementation 60%. What gives the mayor reason to claim that this year in 6 months he will realize 645 million leva in capital expenditures /as he planned now/, given that a year earlier he was unable to make even 400 in 12 months? In conclusion, it is a matter of several million leva, not hundreds of millions, as he describes it. It is a matter of stubbornness, but not on the part of the unions! "Everything else is populism," he explains.
