Delyan Peevski demonstrates his positions not by virtue of his own political power, but by virtue of the weakness of others.
With this statement, political scientist and university lecturer Strahil Deliyski began his comment to the Bulgarian National Radio and specified:
"If we had parties with one million voters each, then he would not have this opportunity to participate in the power processes. There are no such parties and therefore Peevski has the legitimate right that with the support he has, he should participate solidly in the political process. The other thing - every mention of Delyan Peevski's name and how powerful and omnipotent he is brings him new voters, because he becomes such a powerful leader in the public's mind"
In the words of Strahil Deliyski, the resignation of Dzhevdet Chakarov from the post of co-chairman of the MRF and the announcement from "DPS-New Beginning" about the end of the division is another stage in the absorption of the party by Delyan Peevski:
"I don't see anything surprising. We saw the reaction of the people around Ahmed Dogan - they are keeping theirs, but I'm not sure how long they will keep it. DPS, as it was conceived and implemented from the beginning of the transition until now, has lost its meaning, because the generations are different, the tasks facing Bulgarian society are different, the voters of the MRF themselves are different. There was a need for a transformation in the MRF. I'm not saying that this was the best transformation, but it was more than clear that some change had to happen. If it weren't for this deep reason, Peevski wouldn't have had it so easy. He used this deep reason, but... one big "but".
According to the political scientist the honorary chairman of the MRF Ahmed Dogan has long since retired:
"He is from the generation of politicians who had a role and importance in other times, in a totally different context. It is very important in politics to know when to give up. Times are different. What is happening to him is something normal and quite common for the career of every politician".
