Schengen and the euro are not strategic goals, they are good goals. A strategic goal could be change and a better life for people. What is our healthcare, what is our education and what is our future? Schengen and the euro are not the most important, our healthcare is more important.
This is how Anton Kutev, former spokesman for the BSP, former advisor to President Rumen Radev and spokesman for the official cabinet "Stefan Yanev", answered the question What will be the next strategic goal of Bulgaria after the entry into the euro.
In an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio, he said that he does not believe that inflation in our country is 3% and does not know who these economists are who claim that there will be no price increase with the entry into the euro:
"I know that the neighbor's apartment cost 100,000 euros, now it is from 400,000 to 500,000 euros, it has increased in price 5 times, and we are talking about 2% inflation. How is this happening? I claim that the price increase has already happened. The price increase that we expect from the entry of the euro is already happening. Inflation is not 3%."
About what is happening in the DPS, Anton Kutev commented that the process of illegitimate takeover of the state is now underway, because the legitimate thing is elections.
"Someone is trying to govern the state against democracy and despite it. In pubs and cafes, everyone says that this is unacceptable and cannot be done, but no one does anything, and the institutions do not either. The prosecutor's office pretends not to notice the crimes, but it turns out that there are not just unpunished, but undiscovered. You have a state that has no statehood, a society that is meaningless and you have anarchy," Anton Kutev pointed out.
And he claims that "we were in a bad situation before, but we haven't gotten to this point":
"In those dark times, when they did whatever they wanted with the black jeeps, there was still a state. There was untouchability, but they were killing each other and they were in prisons. And now they are talking about people with criminal records sitting in the front row of the National Assembly. The Prosecutor General issued a statement on the family code. Well, then there are people with criminal records sitting in the front row of the National Assembly, they are killing each other in the streets, that family code. Let's solve the problems first."
The former presidential advisor believes that Rumen Radev may be an opponent of the existing model of state governance – as long as he wants to.
"He is trying to be an opponent institutionally, but that cannot be the end result. We have suspected for 4 years that Radev is preparing a project, and he has not done it yet. I think that if someone tells you that he will do a project, they will lie to you. No one outside Radev's head can say it. He has the opportunity to do it and oppose Peevski and will be the only alternative. There are too many variables in Radev's thinking that he calculates. Everyone is waiting for a project from him, and he is waiting to serve out his mandate," commented Kutev.
"Unfortunately, we are convinced that this cabinet – "Zhelyazkov", has a horizon, while Peevski has an interest in existing. I had lost hope that he could be overthrown by internal forces and GERB could break away from Peevski, but with the merger of DPS-Dogan, this chance is decreasing. There is a fairly high probability that the government will fall between July and the New Year. But with every subsequent action Peevski ensures the government's continued existence," predicts Anton Kutev.
