"Bulgaria is ready to introduce the euro from January 1, 2026", Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova told NOVA TV.
According to her, by the end of September, the state administration will adapt its systems to the new currency.
„One of the biggest challenges is related to how to combat fake news regarding the introduction of the euro and Bulgaria's membership in the eurozone, how to dispel people's fears," the Minister of Finance also said.
"This, of course, can be done through a very serious information campaign, for which our government is ready. It is currently underway, but after June 4th I hope it will start in its full volume”, Petkova pointed out.
