Our two countries have an important role in the connectivity between Europe and Asia through the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor. This was stated by President Rumen Radev at the beginning of the talks between the delegations of Bulgaria and Uzbekistan. The head of state is on an official visit to the country.
"Bulgaria is strongly committed to the development of this corridor as a country on the western coast of the Black Sea with developed ports and the second busiest border line in the world – between Bulgaria and Turkey", said the president.
Earlier, Rumen Radev was welcomed at the "Kuksaroy" residence in Tashkent by the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev and with an honor guard.
Rumen Radev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev will sign a joint statement on strengthening bilateral political dialogue and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, connectivity, culture and educational exchange.
During the visit, a cooperation program with a horizon of 2026-2027 will be signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries and a memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of Sofia and the Municipality of Tashkent.
