Bojanov: Minister Mitov is left with only Peevski's support - 1

“The Minister of Interior no longer seems to have the support of his own party and the Prime Minister. Daniel Mitov is the Deputy Chairman of GERB. Both the Prime Minister and GERB spoke quite unflatteringly about him and he lost support. He is left with only Peevski's support“. This was stated to journalists on the sidelines of the parliament by the co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria" Bozhidar Bojanov. He reminded that the last time Peevski supported the Minister of Interior - Kalin Stoyanov, he moved to the “New Beginning”. And he suggested that Mitov himself determine whether he is now only Peevski's minister and will work only “for the people“.

The co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“ also suspected deeper political motives behind the withdrawal from the interior minister. “We can view this strange political plot today as the beginning of an attempt by the ruling party to overthrow itself. To create such turbulence within the ruling majority and even within GERB that they have a reason to overthrow themselves, seeing how much negativity they accumulate from this harmful government“, said Bozhidar Bozanov. And he reminded that today the PP-DB again submitted the bill on body cameras for police officers, which GERB and other parties rejected last year.

The MP from “Democratic Bulgaria“ Martin Dimitrov expressed satisfaction with the adoption by a large majority on the first reading of the bill on mobile operators, which he is submitting for the third time together with his colleagues from the PP-DB. It allows the consumer to cancel a contract with a mobile operator without paying penalties, in the event of any unilateral increase in prices, including indexations. And now this is happening after four indexations, which created enormous public tension and after mobile operators voluntarily began to implement this clause, Dimitrov pointed out. However, he expressed concerns that during the second reading of the bill, enormous pressure will be exerted on various parliamentary groups. But he is categorical that it is worth fighting the battle in the interests of 4 million users of mobile services, with the sole aim being for mobile operators to be brought into a more competitive regime and to offer better quality and cheaper services.
