Zafirov: The protest against the euro aims to reformat the political space - 1

According to the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), Atanas Zafirov, the protest against the euro is trying to reformat the political space. People should not be afraid, they should not give in to political suggestions, because everything that is happening at the moment, in addition to public concern, also has a political aspect, Zafirov emphasized.

This protest is somehow trying to reformat the political space and from a protest against entering the eurozone, it is starting to turn, or at least an attempt is being made, into a political protest against the government, which is apparently not yielding results, because we are witnessing that it is fading, the Deputy Prime Minister believes.

Zafirov commented on President Rumen Radev's request for a referendum on the euro, pointing out that the moment at which it is being made was not chosen by chance, but is in the context of these attempts that are being made to derive political dividends from the entire situation and from the justified fears of Bulgarian citizens.

We treat people's fears with respect, to the fact that for many years the state has been in debt regarding the information campaign about the benefits of joining the eurozone, that's why we at the BSP have always preferred personal contact, meetings with people, to whom we can answer all the questions posed face to face, Zafirov also said.

Atanas Zafirov made his comment on current socio-political topics in Pleven, after arriving to participate in a meeting of the BSP Regional Council. Zafirov indicated that all topics that have caused tension in society in recent months will be discussed, including the topic of the country's joining the eurozone. Together with him, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Stefan Burdzhev and MP Iliyan Yonchev are participating in the meeting, BTA reported.
