BDZ has launched the express trains that will provide daily connections from the capital to Burgas and Varna. The trains will run from June 15 to September 15, 2025 with optimized schedules for the fastest possible reach to the coast.

The new fast trains will depart every morning from Sofia – one to Burgas at 06:15 and will arrive at 11:40, and the other to Varna will depart from Sofia North station at 07:55 and will reach the final point at 14:27. In the opposite direction, the train from Burgas will depart at 17:05 and arrive in Sofia at 22:25, while the train from Varna will depart at 16:35 and arrive in the capital at 23:12.

Each of the trains will consist of three air-conditioned German saloon-type cars and one bistro car, which will provide additional comfort for passengers. The train to Burgas will stop at the stations of Iskarsko Shose, Karlovo, Kazanlak, Dabovo and Sliven, and the one to Varna - in Mezdra, Pleven, Gorna Oryahovitsa and Shumen.

The price of a one-way ticket for travel between Sofia and Burgas in second class is 38 leva with a mandatory reserved seat worth 1 leva included, and between Sofia and Varna - 47 leva. Customers can benefit from a 20% discount when purchasing a round-trip ticket, with the price for a round-trip ticket between Sofia and Burgas being 57.30 leva, and for Sofia and Varna – 66.90 leva.

For those wishing to travel in greater comfort, the bistro car offers 18 first class seats at a price of 47.30 leva for one way on the Sofia – Burgas route and 58.50 leva for Sofia – Varna. Round-trip first class tickets are priced at 70.40 leva and 84.40 leva, respectively.
