The unrest surrounding the capital's budget continues after Mayor Vasil Terziev and representatives of the various political parties in the Sofia Municipal Council failed to reach an agreement. Today's meeting ended without consensus, as Terziev returned the proposed budget, defining it as inappropriate.
Mayor Terziev revealed that he has presented a new version of the budget, including a number of adjustments. However, the lack of unanimity among the parties continues to be an obstacle to its approval.
The budget issue is expected to be discussed again at the upcoming regular meeting of the Municipal Council, which will be held on Thursday.
„For our part, we are ready to review the budget and discuss the proposals we have made. If the parties see sense in them, we are open to dialogue and cooperation. Just as we invited them to talks, they responded. It is important that the administration recognizes the budget so that we can implement it“, commented Vasil Terziev.
