Rumen Radev: We must monitor what commitments the government makes on our behalf. The price could be very high - 1

We must be very careful not to get Bulgaria involved in the escalating conflicts. This was called for by the head of state Rumen Radev, quoted by dariknews.bg. The head of state made this comment in the village of Dren, where he participated in the celebration of 35 years since the establishment of the "SOS Children's Villages Bulgaria" Association. A chess session is also being organized as part of the event, during which the Bulgarian chess player Nurgül Salimova plays on 35 boards simultaneously.

"We must also very carefully monitor the decisions of the Bulgarian government and what commitments it undertakes on our behalf, because the price can be very high. Even entering the eurozone, during a period of oil crisis, must also be very carefully considered. A referendum, precisely in such times, is a way to stabilize the state, to achieve a consensus that we especially need in times of crisis", the head of state added.

He specified that recently, a breakdown of the system of international law has been increasingly noticeable with all its consequences, and the lack of security and unpredictability are now becoming a main feature in international relations. "It is increasingly easy to resort to missiles and bombs. What I see in economic terms is a sudden, surprising interruption of supplies and in general prices are rising beyond the logic of any economic framework,", he pointed out.

At the moment, there is no urgent need to convene a National Security Advisory Council, the president specified, adding that at the beginning of the conflict he had convened a meeting with the responsible ministries and security services, where all possible aspects and consequences were discussed. "Everything is being monitored, the services are working actively on the ground. If necessary, the National Security Advisory Council may be convened again. There are measures that are being taken, others remain to be implemented," Radev pointed out.
