A change in the organization of traffic on sections of the Trakia Highway is in effect until June 26 for repairs and ongoing maintenance of the sections, the press center of the "Road Infrastructure" Agency announced.
In the Sofia region, repair work will be carried out at km 0 of the highway in the Burgas lane. On Wednesday, work will be carried out between 08:00 and 17:00 at the Sofia exit. Passage in the emergency and one active lane will be limited. Traffic will pass in the overtaking and middle active lanes. Vehicles traveling from the village of Lozen in the direction of Burgas, will be redirected along a bypass route from the "Ring Road" junction through the connections of the Sofia Ring Road - connection Lozen - Sofia, via the connection Burgas - Lozen, to the connection Kazichene - Burgas.
Work will be carried out in the territory of the Plovdiv district until 09:00 on June 26 (Thursday). Passage in the emergency and active lanes of the "Trakia" motorway will be restricted from the 127th to the 130th km in the Sofia lane.
During the implementation of the necessary activities, two lanes will be set aside for those traveling towards Sofia and Burgas, and in the Burgas lane there will be two lanes for those traveling towards the sea and one in the direction of Sofia. Heavy goods vehicles traveling towards Sofia will move in the overtaking lane in the capital lane, and passenger cars will move in the overtaking lane in the Burgas lane. Traffic in the direction of Burgas will be carried out in the active and emergency lanes.
On June 25, from 08:00 to 21:00, traffic in the section from 162 to 164 km in the Burgas lane will be carried out in the overtaking lane for repair work in the active lane.
On June 26, from 08:00 to 21:00, traffic in the section from 165 to 168 km in the Burgas direction will be in the overtaking lane. The active and emergency lanes will be closed for repairs.
The “Road Infrastructure“ Agency apologizes to drivers for the inconvenience caused, but points out that the repair work is necessary to ensure the safety of traffic through the facilities. The appeal to drivers is to drive carefully, to observe traffic rules and the speed limit, not to undertake risky overtaking, which endangers the safety of all other travelers. Do not use the emergency lanes on the highways for faster movement when loaded.
Since June 20, traffic has been restored on the 12-kilometer section in Sofia Region, which was stopped for repairs. Cars can now pass along the renovated route between the 11th and 23rd km of the highway in the direction of Burgas. The asphalting of the section has been completed, the markings have been laid and the guardrails have been installed.
