About 800,000 people took part in the annual Pride Parade in Mexico City, DPA reported.
Participants marched through the streets of Mexico City for several hours yesterday.
Municipal authorities today welcomed the "historic attendance" of the event.
The 47th Pride Parade in Mexico was held under the theme "Diversity without Borders, Justice, Resistance and Unity".
Last year, Mexico was the second most dangerous country for the LGBTI community in Latin America after Colombia, according to a report by the "LGBTI Non-Violence Network", DPA notes. Murders of members of the community in Mexico have increased by 23% year-on-year to 80.
According to the report, an average of one LGBTI person is murdered every 24 hours in Latin America and the Caribbean.
