Spetsov: The economic situation in our country is improving - 1

"In three years, we have had growth of over 20 billion leva in the revenue side. It, of course, determines the higher expenses". This was stated in "The Day Begins with Georgi Lyubenov" on BNT by the executive director of the NRA, Rumen Spetsov.

"The NRA's revenue plan was 27.4 billion leva. Three years later, it is already 42 billion leva, and for 2025, it is already 50 billion. The state budget was adopted only in April, and the measures to increase revenue were in place from May, with the publication of the order of the Minister of Finance. We have started working on this large revenue part since June.

According to him, 2025 has started with a very high start, and the results of the budget implementation will come in the second half of 2025. Spetsov noted that there is an increase in tax collection.

"We are talking about VAT, taxes, corporate tax, I see an increase in each of the tax items. The economic situation in Bulgaria is improving - we have growth in insurance, which means that we have more and more clarification in terms of wages and insurance contributions".

According to the director of the National Revenue Agency, it is too early to talk about updating the budget, and realistic figures would be expected around October. Rumen Spetsov said that he has no concerns regarding the euro and its adoption would not mean a depreciation of money and a loss of savings. According to him, people's fears are caused by insufficient information. In the event of a positive decision on July 8, the information campaign regarding the introduction of the euro will be fully deployed.

"The National Revenue Agency is making great efforts, we have been given a lot of expectations, rather next year there would be small doubts in the first month, when both currencies are in circulation, but if everything is sorted out in terms of information, I think people would not have problems there either".

Rumen Spetsov is categorical that there is no manipulation of the data regarding revenue collection. He criticized traders for the unjustified increase in prices.

"There was no economic logic for the price to be one on June 3 and another on June 17. During this period of time, the only thing that happened was that a positive convergence report was released on June 4. Traders took advantage of this and raised prices. This is speculation to me".

The first description of prices was on June 3, the second - on June 17, and the last - on July 3. All data is transmitted to the CPC and the CPC and they work on it. All signals to the NRA are also checked and transmitted to both regulators.

It is good from July 8 to August 8 for all traders to contact the companies that support their cash receipt software, advised Rumen Spetsov.

"Cash receipts remain mandatory, there will simply be a change in the way prices are written. After August 8, it will be mandatory for the price on the cash receipts to be written in both leva and euros".
