The Bulgarian now spends over 30% of their income on food and soft drinks, according to the latest national statistics. The average per person in a household spends 951 leva on food, which has increased by nearly 14% compared to the same period last year, reports Nova TV.
Expenses on alcohol and cigarettes have also increased - by 18.5% and are now 130 leva. The largest increase is in the consumption of vegetables, meat, fruit and yogurt. We buy less cheese and oil.
An increase is also observed in the amount of money that Bulgarians spend on leisure and culture - by nearly 20 percent.
