Protesters demanding justice and responsibility for the death of the woman in labor in Ruse stormed the Obstetrics and Gynecology (OG) complex of the University Hospital "Kanev" in the Danube city.

We demand justice and responsibility for Gabriela's death, said the husband of the woman who died in labor in Ruse, Svetlin Georgiev. This was also demanded by relatives of the family and others who gathered in protest in front of the building of the OG complex of the "Kanev" hospital in the Danube city early this morning.
Yesterday, Svetlin Georgiev met with Ivan Ivanov and the management of the medical facility. However, he stated that he did not believe the explanations that everything possible was done to save his wife.
The protesters chanted "Murderers!" and entered the lobby of the AG-complex. They demanded a new meeting with the hospital management and the people who were on shift when Gabriela Georgieva died. Police officers and hospital security managed to convince the people to go out in front of the AG-complex door with the assurance that a representative of the management would come to the scene.
The director of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Ruse, Senior Commissioner Nikolay Kozhuharov, also arrived at the AG-complex.
On August 23, two days after the birth of her second child, 21-year-old Gabriela Georgieva died in the hospital. The hospital's executive director, Ivan Ivanov, initiated an internal investigation and notified the prosecutor's office, which is working with the police to clarify the circumstances that led to the woman's death.
