"We have been living for a very long time in a collapse of statehood, which already threatens the existence of the country. I do not see how this process will turn around, especially with this form of government. In order to stop this, we need to understand why it is happening. We do not live in a dictatorship, but we live with rulers who are trying to do this and would be happy if they could.". This was said by Anton Kutev - the former spokesman for the caretaker government and former MP, in “Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov”.
“There is an attempt to remake the 2020 protest wave, because it was successful. There is no doubt that there are forces in society that are trying to overthrow this government with all their might and means, and they have a reason to do so. But in recent years in Bulgaria I have not seen a government fall after protests. Cabinets fall after internal disagreements in the ruling coalition,” he commented.
Kutev does not believe that the protests will succeed in leading to new elections. However, he believes that dissatisfaction will deepen.
According to him, the problem of Euroscepticism is very serious, and it also affects Europe.
„We have two narratives – the European Commission, which tells us that we will defeat the Russians, and this is not true; the other is from “Vazrazhdane”, who say that we should leave the EU and NATO, which is also so harmful”, he added.
In his words, “we need a European Union that preserves peace, democracy, fights corruption, “and does not support corrupt politicians like in Bulgaria”, which ensures economic development and prosperity and humanity”.
He added that our country should not leave the EU, but it should be made profitable.
The contract with “Rheinmetall”
On the issue of Bulgaria's contract with ”Rheinmetall”, Kutev believes that if a production is profitable, it will remain in Germany. To come to Bulgaria, he most likely brings with him risks, he added.
Rumen Radev's place in politics
The expert believes that Rumen Radev does not want to fit into any framework. According to him, the president defends Bulgarian interests.
“The fact that we are part of the European Union does not mean that we do not have Bulgarian interests and that they should not be defended”, he added. According to him, Rumen Radev is not a Eurosceptic.
The nomination of Denyo Denev as head of DANS
Kutev believes that the nomination of Denyo Denev by the Council of Ministers as head of DANS is another step towards conquering the state. According to him, the president's refusal to sign a decree appointing him is not a surprise.
