Denkov on the beating in Ruse: We hear all sorts of things that do not correspond to the recordings - 1

Former Prime Minister and current MP from the PP–DB Nikolay Denkov insisted on the resignation of Interior Minister Daniel Mitov due to the contradictory information surrounding the incident in Ruse. He stated that “versions are changing and do not correspond to the recordings“, which undermines trust in the institution.

“Instead of facts and clarity - versions that later turn out to be false. What we have seen in recent months is a continuous cover-up of the problems. First of all, I do not know what the police version is, because what we hear are all sorts of things that do not correspond to what comes out as recordings. Is there drifting? Is there none? Did a police officer introduce himself or did he not introduce himself? Who started it and when the ambulance arrived, why did it leave immediately after that?“, Denkov commented to bTV.

He described the accusations against the opposition for low trust in institutions as “ridiculous“.

“We see very clearly, double standards, selective action, selectivity towards different people, this is not acceptable. The only thing we expect from him (Mitov – ed. note) is to provide hope and accurate information. So that we know that if recordings come out tomorrow or other days, these recordings will not contradict what he or the colleagues standing next to him said. In this case, we are not in such a situation at all“, Denkov added.

PP–DB is preparing a general vote of no confidence. DB emphasizes the “conquered state“ – justice, internal order and security. PP focuses on the consequences for people - business environment, selective actions of the services, security.

The wording will be general, after legal clarification on policies, Nikolay Denkov also said.

According to him, the dispute over the anti-corruption commission threatens the payments under the Recovery and Resilience Plan:

The second payment includes requirements for a politically independent commission. The procedure has gone awry - we propose that it be stopped and restarted so that the third funds can come, added the PP-DB MP.
