The construction sector in Bulgaria has reported growth in recent months. Construction output rose by 3% in April on an annual basis, according to the National Statistical Institute (NSI), with a drop for the same month of the previous year of more than 2%. The most sensitive in April 2024 is the increase in production in specialized construction activities - by 6.9%
In April 2024, the production index in the "Construction" decreased by 0.7% compared to the previous month, show preliminary and seasonally adjusted data of the NSI, released today. The calendar-adjusted data show a 2.8% increase in construction output compared to the same month of 2023.
In April 2023, the production index in the sector was 1 percent below the level of the previous month, and according to calendar data, a decrease of 2.3 percent was recorded in the construction output in April 2023 compared to the same month of 2022
In April 2024, a decrease compared to the previous month was recorded in the construction of facilities - by 1.3%, in the output from specialized construction activities - by 0.7 percent, and in building construction - by 0.3%. On a monthly basis for April 2023, the state of the sector was similar with the decrease in civil/engineering construction by 1.3% and in building construction by 0.8%.
