In the sixth edition of the contest “Bulgarian Architectural Awards” 34 projects are involved. Among them are single-family and multi-family residential buildings; closed complexes; administrative and office buildings; cultural and educational centers; museum buildings; restoration of immovable cultural heritage; socialization of public spaces; holiday hotels; production buildings.
In the sixth edition of the competition, organized by the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria (CAB), prizes will be awarded in two categories, determined by two separate juries. The first category is for contemporary architecture realized in the last 3 years.
The international jury, which will determine the winner and 4 special awards, is composed of: chairman – Arne Emerson with over 27 years of experience in the architectural field, author of numerous projects in the USA, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, as well as members: Peter Pichler – Italy, Judith Cimpian – Great Britain, Busra Al – Trutsia and Georgi Kutov, winner of the “Bulgarian Architecture Awards 2023”. The winner in this category will be nominated by KAB for participation in the most prestigious competition of the European Union for contemporary architecture - “Miss van der Rohe”.
The second category is for projects for the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage, implemented in the last 5 years. The prize is awarded for the second time within the competition, jointly with the Ministry of Culture (MK). The jury that will determine the winners is composed of: chairman – Prof. Dr. Arch. Todor Krastev and members – Prof. Dr. Arch. Yordanka Kandulkova, arch. Chavdar Georgiev, Dr. Arch. Aneta Vasileva and arch. Veneta Ivanova.
