House prices are rising all over Europe. The trend is unlikely to reverse soon given the fact that demand exceeds supply. The second trend is that buyers pay more and more attention to the environment, and when we say environment, we mean not only the presence of shops, schools, kindergartens and hospitals, as well as convenient road infrastructure, but also landscaping. Block-packed neighborhoods are increasingly falling into the background, despite their attractive prices.
One of the capitals that intends to invest a significant amount in the landscaping of the city is neighboring Belgrade. For the period 2025-2031 it is planned that the city will invest nearly EUR 28 million in landscaping. The point of the green infrastructure strategy of the capital city is to turn it into a "garden city". The amount will be collected from the city budget and from donations, and the implementation will be based on a public-private partnership. For this purpose, the company Ѕуме Веограда was created. Its goal will be to increase urban and suburban forests on the territory of Belgrade.
The work on the implementation of the “city-garden“ will be facilitated by the creation of a digital database of green infrastructure and a digital catalog of the best afforestation sites. The city will have roof gardens and vertical greenery.
The strategy also includes raising the qualifications of all those involved in the planning and design of the green infrastructure, increasing the information of the target and their inclusion in the ecological assessments the final plans.
